The 2009 Gala & Auction

Triskaidekaphobia

The 13th Annual Landfall Foundation Gala

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Next year's Gala, Triskaidekaphobia, includes an elegant Gala and Live Auction. Guests of the Gala will be entertained by live music while they visit with friends over cocktails. A sit-down, 7-course, gourmet dinner will be followed by dancing.

Do you have a fear of the number 13? Do you have any superstitions? We'll test your resolve and your knowledge this evening while you enjoy outstanding music and food at the Country Club of Landfall. The event will be black tie optional. Gala Co-chairs Shirley Heusel and Avery Wilmeth are planning an evening of fun, games, and surprises with seven valuable auction items thrown in.

“Triskaidekaphobia,” Tris means "3", kai means "and", deka means "10" and we all know what phobia means! Start planning your tables now—it is good luck to have someone at your table born on the 13th of any month. (Three at your table triples your luck.). Tables will seat 6, 7, or 8 people.

The Landfall Foundation provides grants funds to local nonprofit organizations for programs and projects that provide for the Arts, Education, and Health and Welfare in the Greater Wilmington, North Carolina area. To date, the foundation has raised over $1,450,000. This event represents the majority of the Foundation's fund raising for the year and all proceeds from this event are granted. Help us exceed our past successes by marking your calendars now to attend.

The success of this annual event would be significantly diminished if not for our Sponsors. All giving is tax deductible. Please visit the Sponsorship page for a list of last year's sponsors and information on how you may become a Sponsor in 2009!

Please check back regularly for updates on this event.
