Next Holiday Marketplace scheduled for Tuesday, November 13th

Nearly 200 eager shoppers experienced the newest event hosted by the Landfall Foundation at the Country Club of Landfall on the evening of November 17, 2011--The Landfall Foundation Holiday Marketplace and Silent Auction. Shoppers received a complimentary Landfall Foundation tote bag loaded with donated items and discount coupons for various local merchants.

Refreshments were available by signature and Chef Bobby Zimmerman created holiday-inspired appetizers that were passed throughout the crowd.

Event chairs, Jessica Spencer and Katie Watkins, solicited 14 Wilmington-area merchants to participate as vendors for the event: Biltmore Inspirations, Oliver, It's Good, Reed's, Uppity Lu's, Stella & Dot Jewelry, Polka Dot Palm, Protocol, Rival Rompers, Inc., Sailor's Choice, Aunt Cake's Cookies, Kate's Boutique, Figments, and Brilliant Sky Toys. The vendors brought fabulous must-have items including baked goods, toys for all ages, home decor and accents, sports memorabilia, holiday decorations, art work and art classes, tote bags and men's and women's clothing--20% of all sales for the evening were donated by the vendors to the Landfall Foundation.

Landfall resident, Kathryn Nixon of Polka Dot Palm, was pleased with the event, "We were so happy to see so many friends shopping in one place, enjoying themselves and getting into the holiday spirit of helping others, all while supporting the Landfall Foundation."

Volunteers for this event were Sandy Agrella, Cindy Worden, Marcia Foushee, Anderson Moya, Beck Spivey, Tyrrell Accattato, Lenard Edralin, Betsy Adams, Tamara Pasin, Luanne Pigford, Jessica Schreiber and Risé Amos.
